our story

our founder

Omegas Manna was founded by Juana, a native of San Francisco and mother to 5 children and mothering countless others, and grandmother to 5 beautiful grandchildren. Juana has been feeding those in need for as long as she can remember.  Stretching back at least 35 years on a small scale by purchasing items for those in need of support and making sandwiches for the homeless. She has never been able to walk by someone in need without offering whatever she can to help.

Having her own experience with food insecurity and her intimate knowledge of what it is like to have struggled, she has always had a strong need to help those who have less.

In her professional life, Juana has been in the social services field for over 17 years in San Francisco and has truly loved every moment of it.

Juana brings that same spirit to Omegas Manna and the homeless we serve in the Bay Area. Through our organization, Juana hopes to leave a legacy and inspire others to follow in her footsteps to change lives while helping one person at a time.

Omegas Manna delivers food to the homeless in the simplest terms. We take our mobile truck to the homeless camps in San Francisco for those who have debilitating mental health disorders and are unable to locate food on their own, those with disabilities that make it impossible to get to where food is, or those who don’t want to leave their tents out of fear that they’ll lose their belongings.

our family

When her children were small, Juana shared her compassionate nature with them. As they got older, they often accompanied her to shelters to serve food. Today, her children walk the streets amongst the homeless, handing out the blessing bags. They are sharing this legacy of giving with their children.

That incredible, compassionate, giving spirit is what Juana brings to Omega’s Manna and the homeless they serve in the Bay Area. Juana homes to leave the legacy of giving and inspire others to follow in her footsteps, in changing other peoples’ lives one person, one blessing bag at a time.
